PERSONAL TRACK SECOND YEAR

TYPICAL tells a typical story of 3 teenagers in a secondary school. We follow the lives of Lars, Liam and Laura. They are in a class together in the last year of the third grade. At school you have different statuses. Liam is one of the cool football players, Laura is one of the most popular girls in school and then you have Lars who ... is a donut.

Liam and Laura are a cuple, but not everyone likes them. Liam and Lars can't see each other. Lars thinks that Laura is much too good for Liam and would be a better match for him. But Laura can't sink to such a low level, can she? When big mistakes happen and tensions rise, it becomes clear that every decision has an impact on the lives of the others.

Because of corona and the sudden lockdown, I was unable to shoot this project. A whole year I worked very hard on this. Everything was ready to roll during the Easter vacations. Just before the lockdown, we went on location visits. 

​

The short film/series was going to be shown on Instagram, so it was going to be shot vertically. You could watch the short film from three different perspectives, through the eyes of the three main characters, so each time the same main story, but experienced from a different point of view. The viewer would have had the choice of which character to watch the story through. Through the Instagram accounts of the 3 main characters, the viewers got to know them.
