JUST BECAUSE I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING

A heartwarming Christmas short film about loneliness, accidental encounters, and breaking down walls on Christmas Eve.

Corona had been on for 8 months and in the meantime we were already on our 2nd lockdown. Everyone was sick and tired of it. We, the creators, couldn't do anything for a whole year because we weren't allowed to go to school. But it's not because the school doesn't organise anything that we can't make something ourselves. And there was Ho Ho, the short film. A project that I started in order to be able to make something again, but especially to be able to see my friends again. For Ho Ho, the intention was that everything would be realised in five weeks. It just had to be finished before Christmas. Writing, producing, casting, recording and editing all succeeded in this short period of time. The music was all written by ourselves and even a song was written and recorded for it. We had 4 drag nights (something we had never done before) at a campsite in Lille. For certain shots, we even made our own dolly.

It was quite a challenge, but a very nice one!
